  TRANS KALIMANTAN 4X4 EXPEDITION 2012

UPDATE & EVENT SCHEDULE

 

Dear Adventurers,

We hope your upcoming preparations for this Trans Kalimantan 4×4 Expedition 2012  are coming along well. A short update on the up and coming event as follows.

As you know, LROM will be celebrating our 15^th Anniversary this year. To celebrate the occasion, we are planning an expedition into Kalimantan, in the spirit of the Camel Trophy. We hope to have a total convoy of 12-15 vehicles, representing all the countries in the region.

 

The details of the event are as follows:

Date:                           10-24^th March, 2012

Route (tentative):        Flag Off Kuching – Lubok Antu- Putussibau- Berigin- Marta Purba- Banjarmasin – Palankaraya- Tg. Putting- Pangkalanbun- Balaiberkuak- Pontianak (Equator line)- Singkawang-  Kuching

Eligible Vehicles:                  Series III, Defender, Discovery, Range Rover Classic.

Type of Terrain:                     Tarmac, with certain dirt road stages

Vehicles Specs:                       All Terrain tires and Winch are mandatory

Accommodation:                    Mixture of hotels, Long House, chalets and camping

                                                         (Don’t expect any 5 stars or even 3 stars hotel unless in big city) 

         Cost :                              All costs to be borne by participants

 

Entry fees per vehicle: RM10,000.00

Shipping on roro to and fro (Port Klang – Kuching, Kuching – Port Klang)

2 Nights in Kuching Hotel

1 Night in Banjarmasin Hotel

There will be opening dinner and closing dinner in Kuching. Event T.shirts and event Stickers for all vehicles.

Please note there will also be an official flag off at Hotel, Kuching. Sarawak by VIP at 9.30am.

07.30am                      Rendezvous at Hotel , Kuching.           

08.00am                      Briefing by Rate De Silva 

09.30am                      Flag off at Hotel by VIP

10.00am                      Convoy rolling to Border of Kalimantan

 

All Adventurers are advise to take their :-

Travel Insurance, documents of vehicles and International License.

Malaria Prevention Tablets – ensure you start your medication of Anti Malaria Medication 2 weeks before our adventure starts.

Some tips: On camping gears

Camping equipment- cooking utensils by the car owner, sleeping bags, tents or camp bed, torch lights/head lights, Insect repellent & etc. . For clothing wear light and bring along jacket if temperature drops at certain place or time. Those hop in have to bring their on cutlery’s such as plate, cups, fork and spoon.
